Winners of Rising Tides competition announced

Up for some mind-blowing? Check out this year's winners of the Rising Tides competition, an ideas platform for living with the realities of climate change and a 1.4-meter rise in sea level over the next 100 years. Organized by the Bay Conservation and Development Commission, the winning entries proposed embracing the opportunities that could come with inundated waterfronts. Others went wild with technological innovation and applied shark's filter mechanism to controlling the ebbing tide at the Golden Gate. One ominously sought to threatened the public into action. Which one is your favorite?

The San Francisco Planning + Urban Research Association (SPUR) is holding a couple of related events:

Thursday Aug 13 at 12:30 pm: A brownbag for planners
Tuesday Aug 18 at 6 pm: Winners present their entries
